For the love of the Oversized Sweatshirt

It has been over a year since my last post. In this last year, I have debated many times to get rid of my blog completely because I have been very inactive in my blog posts. I never got around to cancelling it because I simply could not. As it may provide you with inspiration, it provides me with some level of stability.

Where have I been this past year? This past year has been one of my most felt years in as long as I can remember. I can easily say this has been one of my best years of life but it is directly following one of my worst years of life. I was at a very low point in my life and I finally took that first step and got help. I gave myself a huge break from things that took away from me focusing on myself and that’s when this blog took a back seat. I didn’t want to feel forced or pressured to make a post when I knew I wasn’t in a good place. Even still, I was busy organizing and participating in other projects that I felt were deserving of my time.

Typing up this post is a lot harder than I thought; it is quite difficult to make public something that has been left private. But in healing, I believe this needs to be done. Also, I am sharing this because I want to encourage you to get help and support if you are going through a tough time. There is light at the end of the tunnel. How you work on fixing yourself and the situation that is troubling you will bring you to the light more quickly than if you remained stagnant.

img_0491I wish I could better explain why I have been MIA but I can’t. What I can say is that I spent a lot of time trying to figure everything out and after a long time I had this very sudden urge to make a blog post. This life is too short for you to not do what you love. Make sure you do whatever it is that you desire and do it with a passion. Even with all the upsets that came this year, it is still one of the most important years in my personal growth. Initially, I wasn’t going to mention any of this, but that would be me being dishonest to myself and in addition, being unfair to all of you.

Going forward, my new posts are going to focus more on what I wear every day. Previously, I felt like I would get dressed up for a photoshoot and then feel uncomfortable the rest of the day. Now my posts will be well repeated outfits- tried and true. I also gave the blog a simple update which makes it easier to maneuver. I already have another post set up to follow this one. It should be up next week but because of the Holiday it may be the following week.

Outfit of the Day details:

Oversized sweatshirt: Zara. The white poplin shirt under is attached. It is easy to fold the white layer under the sweatshirt if you want to hide it.

Black Jeans: Zara

Trainers: Chanel

Tattoo Star Stamp: Milk. If you follow me on snapchat, I’m sure you have seen these star stamps plenty because I basically live in them. Ha

  1. You are a very beautiful person naturally but you look terrible in these posts. Noone needs to learn how to dress. Everyone can figure it out. Just be a good person and give up this nonsense.

    • My posts, and particularly this post, are never made to teach people how to dress. It is no surprise that someone who comes up with such rude comments couldn’t realize that. You should follow your own email address and Please stop following me and that includes Snapchat also. Thanks.

  2. Thank you for sharing Sana! Sometimes as women (and definitely us moms) we take on a lot without realizing it. Self care is very important, and sadly I am only now starting to get it. It is not selfish to take a step back and nourish your own being. We need it.

  3. This is the first time I have ever felt I identified with a hijabi blogger. This is the first time a blogger post has looked like me, like something I would wear. Tried and true as you said, something real.
    Thank you.

  4. Thank you for sharing yourself with us. You’re my style hero – I’ve learned so much from your posts and you look gorgeous!
