Currently blazers are in heavy rotation in my wardrobe. Now that the weather is colder, blazers are a chic and modest way to layer if you want to stay away from sweaters. I love how they can dress up an outfit and complete a look. They are great for work, for casual and for going out. Blazers come in various lengths, styles, colors and details and I can’t seem to get enough.
I usually purchase a blazer with the same style- generally fitted on the waist with shoulder pads. I like long and short lengths. I decided to go out of my comfort zone and purchase a boxy blazer; this one happens to be shorter in length. A boxy blazer does not cinch at the waist and can tend to make you look, well, boxy of course. The boxy fit makes it extra modest. To avoid looking shapeless you can wear a boxy blazer with more fitted pants and heels to elongate your look and balance out the boxiness of the top. It looks great with front pleated pants or harem pants. This blazer has metallic panel accents on the shoulders which wrap to the back as well. It’s collarless and has a layered look at the front completing its laid back sophisticated feel.
Outfit of the day (OOTD) details:
Leather pants: Helmut Lang also worn in one of my previous posts. I explained the pants in more detail and you can see how I wore the pants with a similar color scheme but a totally different look. Check out that post here.
Headscarf: purchased at Century21
Black silk shirt: Go silk purchased at ruelala.com. I wore it high low style by tucking it in the front. The shirt has to be tucked in the front because you don’t want to cover the front pleats of the pants and because of the tie belt. I left the top longer in the back. I actually wore this same exact top in my last post. Check out the post here.
At the end of the photo shoot we were starving and grabbed yummy food which requires minimum wait- halal street food!
