For the love of Superbowl Sunday

Superbowl Sunday revolves around the four F’s- Football, Friends, Food and Fun. So of course, this inspired me to write a new post. In the morning I had a lunch party at my parents’ house. I wore a full sleeved sweater dress with pants. I love sweater dresses, especially long sleeved ones because you don’t have to wear layers over or underneath and they are longer in length than most shirts. The pants are not fully pictured here but they are my favorite black pants. They are from Gap and are called true straight and that is exactly what they are. The legs are straight but not wide, not tight, and they have a small leg opening. They are slim enough that you can still wear them with heels. Everyone I mentioned these pants to, went out and bought them! This was my outfit of the day (OOTD):

outfit details:

Sweater dress- Express for $30

Pants- Gap true straight pant

Head scarf- Oscar de la Renta from Century 21 for $20

Blazer- Zara (read about my love for blazers here)

Bib necklace- Arden B. for $20

Arm candy: Tory Burch and Michael Kors (from left to right)

(hope you guys still recognized me because I wasn’t wearing an ounce of makeup!)

In the evening, we went to a small superbowl party at my in-laws house. It was a laid back stress free party because I was not rooting for either team (unlike last years game of the NY Giants vs. New England Patriots where the Giants came out victorious!) I had an outfit change and quickly did some makeup. I paired a washed silk long top with jeans, flats and a printed hijab. This is a georgette head scarf to keep the casual look. A washed silk top can be worn casual and dressy both because of the material. The brown leather belt tied everything together by complementing the leopard head scarf. For both of my outfits, I wore vibrant printed scarves which were mentioned in my previous blog post and you can read about it here. Here is my casual outfit of the night (OOTN).

The evening was topped off with delicious home baked treats from none other than Aaisha of BakingPartTime.com. She made an absolutely delectable melt in your mouth baked chocolate mousse cake (sort of like a souffle) with fresh whipped cream and strawberries on the side. In addition, she baked 2 dozen vanilla cupcakes with chocolate frosting. The cake part was more dense and the chocolate frosting was the perfect amount of sweet but not overpoweringly sweet. I had to stop myself from eating more than just 1 but sneaking in another half doesn’t really count! ;)
