For the love of Harem Pants

Harem pants are super trendy and modest but it has always been difficult for me to find the perfect pair with an ideal fit. A few weeks ago Mode Clothier sent me a package and lo and behold enclosed was the perfect pair of harem pants. The color was a light gray and the light color allows you to clearly see the beautiful drapes which is what makes harem pants so unique. Harem pants differ in where the drapes are located (some drapes are by the hips and some are by the ankles and some have both) and they also differ in how low the crotch of the pants fall. I never thought I would like a pair with such a low crotch but the drapes are perfection. The crotch in these pants actually fall till past my knees. When I wore these pants for the photo shoot, I pinned up the middle but as I was looking through the pictures I saw that it wasn’t properly depicted in the photoshoot pictures. I attached pictures on the bottom of the post to give you a better idea of the frontal view of the pants worn both ways- as is and with the middle pinned up.

I wore these same pants to an interview with Sweet Modesty earlier today and I did not pin up the middle. The interview should be up next week so you can see how I styled these same pants for a different look. Both times I wore them with heels for a more dressy style but they can easily be worn with ballet flats and a simple cotton top or even super casual with a graphic tee tucked in at the front (you don’t want to cover the tie sash because it would be too bulky if the shirt was not tucked in)

I realize it has been a month since my last post and I was totally missing blogging! I was very preoccupied due to the holiday and my laptop actually died. I attempted to get it fixed but to no avail. It was too expensive and so I decided to purchase another one. I hope you guys had a great holiday! My next post will be fitting for fall and will be titled: For the love of Pumpkin Picking and a very laid back casual outfit will be attached. You may have gotten a preview of it if you have been following me on my instagram account @sanahrashid. Hope you enjoyed this photo shoot. These pictures were taken by: @sameetaahmed. My outfit of the day (OOTD) details:

Harem pants: MODE clothier
**MODE clothier is offering my readers 10% off on purchases until November 1st- just enter the code: MODHIJABI at checkout. **

White washed silk button up top: GOSilk purchased on ruelala.com. I love GOSilk because they have very modest fitting tops.

Spiked heels: Vince Camuto ( I can’t seem to get enough of these heels, I wear them all the time and I have 3 pairs of them)

Silk scarf: simplyzeena. I love this scarf because I love animal prints and the added touch is the gorgeous chunky gold link print. It’s so lux. This was purchased at the ISNA convention which you can read about here

  1. funny that you call this modest, you can see the outline of your push up bra right through your shirt. and yes, we know it’s a push up because you’re otherwise flat as a teenage boy.

    • After your fourth malicious comment, I decided to approve this one. The majority of women that are a size zero are flat. Any genius knows that. Case in point: supermodels. All supermodels are flat unless they get work done or are a Victoria’s Secret model. I’m beyond flattered that you think I should be one! Thanks!

    • Wow, can you say HATER?! You’re obviously jealous that she is beautiful and post nasty replies to try to bring her down and make yourself feel better. Stop being an Internet troll and hiding behind your computer screen. Let’s see YOU model clothing!

      • Also, this is your fourth time writing nasty replies? Get a life. If you don’t like Sana’s blog then why the heck are you here reading it?

    • How disgusting that you can speak to another human like that without any guilt. Why so much hate??

Your issue with Sana is modesty? How about you address proper adaab (manners in Islam) for yourself.

    • nmk – I find it interesting that in addressing your qualms with what is considered modest or not, you’ve somehow deemed it ok to attack someone’s physique in such an immodest way. But…it doesn’t seem like your comment is striving to help yourself or anyone else get to a higher level of modesty. It’s just plain ol hate. May Allah guide us all to what pleases Him, and grant us mutual respect and decency.

  2. @nmk – whatever issues you are personally dealing with, I hope you get them figured out eventually. To lash out at others in such a venomous way is only going to make you more miserable in the long run. Please stop hiding behind the anonymity of the internet and do something more productive with your days.

  3. If only we could empower and inspire our Muslim sisters instead of bashing them. After reading the comment I went back to relook at the pics and look for your “push up bra outline”…………… I don’t see anything, I just feel like a perv for looking for something that’s not there! You look beautiful and MODEST, I have seen women in abayas look more revealing. Well done Sana, yet another feminine, modest, beautiful outfit! xoxo

  4. Wow what a disgusting comment nmk… Speaks volumes about you. I hope that you start feeling better about yourself and that your outlook on life improves so that you don’t feel the need to harass others.
Sana I love reading your posts and your outfits are always fashionable AND modest. Keep it up!

  6. Wow, you are so inspiring! I am so glad I found your blog! I am not Muslim, but I always admire the style of all the Muslim girls and women I come in contact with every day. I prefer to dress more modestly, and I always love how these women pull it off off eloquently. Sorry that you have to deal with such judgmental comments, I think you are beautiful.

  7. I was amazed at the beauty and fashion sense of this young lady and disgusted at the comment by nmk. I lived in the Arab world for 12 years (Saudi) and know that this individual doesn’t represent the respect that most of them have for their womenfolk. Thank you Sana for representing the Muslim woman in such a grand manner. I picked up your blog off Already Pretty so obviously your wonderful post is making the rounds of the fashion blog. Hugs…..Tasi http://www.fashionabletgwoman.com

  8. Yes, beautiful harem pants! People always talk trash about them, but I LOVE them; so beautiful and feminine, and these ones are exceptionally attractive.. Also, the dropped crotch of these pants is there in order to make it easy to sit on the ground with one’s legs folded up. Sitting in CHAIRS is a Western habit; in the East people only relatively recently started sitting in chairs on a regular basis.
