For the love of the Long Sleeved Jumpsuit

This post was necessary since the day I started my blog. Without debate, my absolute favorite article of clothing is a jumpsuit. A jumpsuit is one piece, from top to bottom usually with a uniform print. Long sleeved jumpsuits are my favorite because it is the easiest way to look put together. It would be a no brainer outfit because the outfit is already complete. I have a bunch of long sleeved jumpsuits, and I wear them any chance I get.

With jumpsuits, accessorizing is key, because the accessories would be the differentiating factor. This is why it can be worn classy or casual with jewelry/heels to dress it up and flats to dress it down. I bought this jumpsuit months ago and I’ve worn it a few times but never got a chance to make a post. This camouflage print is perfect for fall but since it is an artisitic camo print and due to the mustard yellow, it can be worn any season.

Buying a jumpsuit can be difficult. It has to fit you well and sometimes you have to purchase one size larger because it’s just one piece and there has to be enough room to allow you to easily move. There are mainly 2 different styles to a jumpsuit. My particular favorite style is when the entire top is loose with slightly dolman shaped arms with a belt to bring in the waist. The pants should be loose on the hips and thighs but taper down to a small leg opening. It gives for a great overall shape and I feel it is still modest. If you get the right size, it is actually slimming. The excess fabric makes you look smaller and the waist can be tightened or loosened to your likening.

The other jumpsuit style would be fitting on the arms and chest/waist with pants that are fitted on the upper hips and then go straight down like palazzo pants and are usually wide. I feel like this style does not flatter my body. This style of jumpsuit is usually more dressy. I’ve seen this style in a structured material which is a great office look to evening and I’ve also seen it in a clingy material like spandex and that looks like it’s from the disco era. Ha.

jumpsuit

I bought a floral printed jumpsuit from Zara a few months ago and even though it is short sleeved it has this same shape like this camo print jumpsuit. With, my short sleeved jumpsuits, I pair them with a blazer or wear connecting sleeves or a top underneath.

I wore this same jumpsuit with a turban hijab and heels to a DIY turban night blogger event a few months back. Which look do you prefer? I prefer look one, because heels are uncomfortable for me! Thanks for reading. Xoxo

For the love of the 10 minute Dessert Dish

and it tastes better than it looks

and it tastes better than it looks!

The food part of my blog is always neglected and so this post is strictly food! This is the first recipe I am posting on my blog and it’s hardly a recipe. It’s the quickest way to put together a dessert dish if you are hosting a party or attending a party and are strapped for time. This kind of seems to be describing my life lately. (Believe it or not but I rarely cook). This recipe is a rendition of Paula Deen’s Banana Split Ice Cream recipe. I dislike bananas in dessert and so I excluded it from the recipe.

Ingredients:

1. 9×13 inch pan

2. 24 ice cream sandwiches

3. Sugar cones

4. Toffee bits

5. Caramel syrup

6. Chocolate syrup

7. Heavy Cream

8. Sugar

Directions:

1. Place ice cream sandwiches on the bottom of the pan. It takes about 11 and a half sandwiches to cover the bottom of the pan.

2. Crush the sugar cones on the top of the ice cream sandwiches. I crushed about 6 cones.

3. Sprinkle toffee bits on top of the crushed cones- I used Hershey’s Heath and you can buy it in the baking section. If you prefer to put bananas, strawberries etc you can add it in this layer.

4. Place second layer of ice cream sandwiches.

5. Whip heavy cream to make whipped cream. I love fresh whipped cream and so I whipped it myself. You can totally bypass this step by using Cool Whip if you would like. To make whipped cream, pour heavy cream in a blender. I use a cup whipped cream to about 2 tablespoons of sugar to make it sweet whipped cream and you can use more or less sugar to cater to your sweetness level. Turn on the blender until its thick and does not move. You don’t have to use a blender and can whip by hand. Place on top of the ice cream sandwiches

6. Drizzle caramel syrup and chocolate syrup on top of the whipped cream.

7. Sprinkle toffee bits on top.

8. Place in freezer until it is time to serve

Serves about 10-12

** Sorry for being missing in action for an embarrassingly long amount of time. I think when Ramadan came, I had no time to blog because I was super busy. And I feel like reality and life hit and it made me feel like I wasn’t prioritizing by blogging when so many important things are going on in the world. Life came at me fast and I had much to cater to. I have some posts lined up for the next few weeks/months. Thanks for reading! Xoxo
